Training Philosophy

The art of training and coaching lies in the sound application of science in a way that fits the needs, goals and personalities of each individual. I don’t believe that there is a particular training methodology that is superior in all cases. The constant study of different training methods and keeping current with new developments in exercise science are imperative to ensure the design and application of the best possible training programs for each individual.

Strength and Conditioning for Athletic Performance:
It not possible to be competitive without a sound Strength and Conditioning Program. It is an integral part of every competitive athlete’s training and it must be designed in a way that fits the specific needs of the sport, the athletes position and his/hers individual characteristics. I believe in assessing needs, listening to the athlete and working with the sport coaches to produce the most efficient results in the field.

General Fitness:
While not everyone is a competitive athlete, everyone needs to exercise to healthy. Most of my clients look to loose weight (fat reduction) , add muscle tone, improve posture, correct muscle imbalances, develop strength , increase flexibility and teach the body to move more effectively. While I consider this non-sport specific training there are many elements that are borrowed from the ways athletes train .The results I have seen people achieve using athletic methods of training with respect to aesthetics and functionality are far greater than with traditional non-functional programs.

Learn to Swim for Adults:
The method is simple yet a 100% effective. The secret is an emphasis on breathing techniques and joint alignment. While most programs are based on rigid instruction methods I use my lifelong experience in swimming and my knowledge of kinesiology and biomechanics to provide the most efficient method for each individual.

Wellfit Advance Swim Clinic:

When pro-level swim coaches are asked what the most important component in freestyle swimming is, the answer is close to unanimous: the high elbow catch. This essential component of the armstroke initiates the propulsion forces which lead to fast swimming. The Wellfit Advance Class designed by fellow coach Keith Keblaha and myself addresses this important element by lectures, video analysis, specialized swimming drills, dryland techniques to increase motor unit recruitment and stimulate muscle memory and even a freestyle specific yoga routine. To find out more about this unique and comprehensive swim clinic contact me or go to sign up at www.wellfitinc.com.

Water Aerobics:
Not just for people concerned about joint problems but
also for those looking for something different. I have developed
different programs with various degrees of difficulty and intensity
depending on your fitness level.
